“Holiday review of the South Of France (this isn’t an ad but we were so impressed with the whole set up I wanted to share our experience) –

We booked the house through a small travel company @the.little.voyager who specialise in holidays for young children.

Mummy Mag is a blogzine that aims at building a bridge between “becoming a mom” and “remaining women”. Founded in 2013 by a trio of Berlin mothers whose desire was to offer inspiration and information about the topics of having children, living and working with children. For the second time this year, the world is holding its breath as everything has changed again within a very short time.

But if there is one thing we have learned during this pandemic, it’s how important it is to slow down and to enjoy the important role nature plays in our lives. And, if you have young children like me, how crucial it is to find some well-deserved “alone time”.

Despite the ongoing pandemic in 2021, we were really pleased to see that we had many “little voyager” families travelling last year and we were lucky to assist them with their well-deserved holidays.

NUMBER 5: Sani Resort – Greece

Located about 40 minutes from Thessaloniki airport, Sani Resort is a stunning complex comprised of five beautiful and very different hotels.

During times as turbulent as we are living right now, giving back to those in need has never felt more necessary.

I have been searching for a while for a suitable charity project that we can support with The Little Voyager and thanks to one of my favourite family bloggers on Instagram (@wasfuermich) I found this beautiful and transparent project in Loitokitok, Kenya, which is helping children and women in need.

With the third wave of Coronavirus scattering across Europe and several other regions of the world, many of us are back in some sort of lockdown, working from home and barely leaving the house anymore. Our days feel a bit like Groundhog Day topped with very little social interaction: taking the kids to school or kindergarten (we know we are so lucky that schools are open here in Spain!), passing by the supermarket on the way home, getting some work and household shores done, picking up the kids again… and repeat the next day!

This was quite a year! Nine months have passed now since our lives changed quite drastically in March.

I am not sure about you but I feel more tired than ever. I’m working from home, juggling work, childcare and homeschooling, and still trying to stay healthy and sane.

I am more than grateful that my family is safe, but I can‘t deny I am in desperate need of some me-time.

Even before the coronavirus madness started, our family had decided that this year we were going to travel around Europe by car. We had never done a drive with children that was longer than 3 hours, so we were not sure what to expect – even more with possible long waits due to border controls or lots of traffic in general since we figured many families would be travelling by car this summer.

Flying with small children can be stressful under normal circumstances, but when you add Corona to the equation, some of us might get close to a mental breakdown.

Back in July, we flew from Barcelona to Munich and I must say, I was much more worried about it than I should have been. When we arrived at the airport, it almost felt like we were travelling alone and once we got through security, which was fast and efficient, we looked for a spot to sit down and waited there until we started boarding.

If you are planning to spend your summer holidays in Greece this year, it is important to keep a few details in mind to make sure you have a smooth and safe holiday.

The Greek government has announced that all travellers must complete a so called Passenger Locator Form (PLF) when entering the country as of July 1st.

While many people from European countries have already started to go on holidays abroad, people in the UK have been reluctant to book a holiday after confusing messages and delays from the government.

Finally, today (3 July), the UK Government has published the new list, referred to as “travel corridors”, which includes 59 countries and 14 British overseas territories that the government no longer regards as high risk and travelling will be allowed from 10 July.

Now that travel restrictions are gradually lifting and travel will be possible again, travelling is not only about what is allowed but also about what feels right. Every family has to make a very personal decision about whether to stay at home, choose a spot close to home or travel to another country during the upcoming summer holidays.
