Dear Voyagers,
These past weeks of lockdown have been difficult for all of us, and I hope you and your loved ones are all doing well.
Now that travel restrictions are gradually lifting and travel will be possible again, travelling is not only about what is allowed but also about what feels right. Every family has to make a very personal decision about whether to stay at home, choose a spot close to home or travel to another country during the upcoming summer holidays.
There is no right answer, but one thing is for sure: we all need a break. I would like to share some of our latest discoveries with you to keep in mind for whenever you feel like going on an adventure again:
Have you ever wanted to sleep in a treehouse with your kids?
This is one of our latest additions in Germany. Guests of all ages will love this unique chance to fulfil a childhood dream: spending the night in a beautiful treehouse in the middle of a magical forest, listening to the sounds of nature. The German Treehouses still have few dates available between June and August, and longer stays are possible again starting in September.
Greek summer dreams…
Greece is one of my favourite countries to visit with children, and we have discovered some very unique family-friendly and stylish hideaways on the beautiful island of Crete. One of them is the Cretan Nature Resort, located only 30 minutes from Heraklion airport. This amazing beach resort has won several awards for its eco-friendly and sustainable concept. They still have some availability for families during the coming summer months.
We also have another new addition very close to the charming town of Chania: a small and luxurious family-friendly oasis on the Cretan coastline called the Cretan Seaside Resort. They also have a wide range of family-friendly options still available this summer.
In Austria, the grass is always greener …
When it comes to child-friendliness, Austria has always raised the bar. Each of our partner properties here offers lots of nature activities, amazing childcare, friendly staff, and great food. In these post-lockdown times, I think we all feel like taking a deep breath in nature and enjoying the luxury of having the great outdoors to ourselves. Our Austrian Mountain Resort fulfils all of the above and they still have few chalets (ideal for self-catering) and hotel rooms available in the upcoming weeks.
Our newest partner in Austria is the Austrian Countryside Chalets, which offers a great combination of a fun farm stay with lots of comfort & style. Kids can help milk the cows, collect chicken eggs, take pony rides and jump in the hay. If this sounds like fun, we can offer availability again from September onwards. This property is open all year through.
If you would like some assistance in booking your family holiday or simply information about any property and how they have adapted to the current situation, please contact us anytime.
The word crisis originates from the Greek word “krisis” and means “decisive moment”. So whatever you decide to do this summer, please enjoy yourselves. And on behalf of the entire The Little Voyager family, we wish you a pleasant summer with your loved ones!
