Despite the ongoing pandemic in 2021, we were really pleased to see that we had many “little voyager” families travelling last year and we were lucky to assist them with their well-deserved holidays.

NUMBER 5: Sani Resort – Greece
Located about 40 minutes from Thessaloniki airport, Sani Resort is a stunning complex comprised of five beautiful and very different hotels. It also has some of the nicest beaches we have ever seen.
Families are exceptionally well catered for and there are loads of activities that parents and children can enjoy together as a family. Aside from that, all Sani Resorts have excellent kids clubs. These are complimentary for children 4 years and older plus a Peppa Pig Crèche for babies 4 months up to 4 years. Most of our clients travelled to Sani Beach, Sani Club or Porto Sani last year. These are the most suitable hotels for families travelling with small children.
NUMBER 4: The South Tyrolean Nature Resort – Italy
I stayed there with my family last summer for the second time as my kids would not stop begging me to go back!
And there are very good reasons for this: Set at an altitude of over 1,200m, this beautifully designed resort is probably one of the most family-friendly places we have ever visited. Parents can enjoy the beautiful mountain spa, the yoga & meditation classes or one of the endless outdoor activities from biking to hiking.
Kids fall in love with the wood workshop, the art studio, the mud room, the mini farm, the sports arena, the play barn. Not to forget the amazing waterpark with a 100m long water-slide! Another thing I personally love is that the educational child care on site is based on Maria Montessori principles, where nature always plays the main role.
And… attention to all horse lovers! Starting in May the resort will have brand new riding stables with horses, ponies and other animals. I better start packing our bags if I tell my kids about this!
NUMBER 3 of our top 5 family-friendly properties of this year are the beautiful Ikos Resorts.
They have clearly redefined the all-inclusive family holiday and each of their five luxury hotels is located in a stunning Mediterranean location (from Greece to Spain). They offer five-star service, elegant accommodation and wide-ranging facilities. The spas provide relaxing treatments and food is created by Michelin-star chefs. Activities range from yoga to water sports and little guests are very well-catered for too. Each of the Ikos Resorts features kids clubs/ crèches for children as young as 4 months and up to 17 years old, offering a variety of age-appropriate activities and supervised fun!
NUMBER 2: The Austrian Mountain Resort
Located close to Lienz in East-Tyrol, this is a beautiful ski-in, ski-out accommodation right on the slopes. It has a very cool kids club for children +3 years, a 3000 m² spa with family-friendly pools. Guests can choose between comfortable hotel rooms or cosy self catering châlets. I can’t say if I prefer summer or winter holidays at the Austrian Mountain Resort. Both seasons are equally beautiful and there is so much to do with kids. Amazing nature, great food and child-friendly places everywhere you go!
And here comes our NUMBER 1 of our top 5 family-friendly properties of 2021: The Cretan Eco Resort
Only about 30 minutes away from Heraklion airport, you can find this stylish property. It has several awards for its eco-friendly & sustainable concept. It features stunning botanical gardens, 3 restaurants and several bars as well as 3 pools. This includes a heated pool and a smaller paddling pool for little ones. The kids club is complimentary for children aged 3 to 10 and also teenagers have their own exclusive space. I stayed last summer with my family at the beginning of August and I must say the number 1 is very well deserved!
