The resort of Weissenhaus occupies a historic village with a castle at its centre. Today, elegant guest accommodations are spread between the castle itself and the surrounding 40 buildings.

Traffic-free and surrounded by extensive grounds that border the Baltic Sea, it is a place where families come to enjoy the beach and fresh sea breezes, shady forests and pristine nature.

A colourful kids club is open daily and offers plenty of entertainment both in and outdoors. Activities available on site include boules, giant chess and cycling.

The resort offers four dining venues including Bootshaus, a family-friendly beach bistro, the Courtier, an award-winning gourmet restaurant, the Castle Kitchen, where kids can learn to cook, and the Asia Bar, specialized in sushi and sashimi.

For guests aged 16 and over, the spa offers everything from indoor and outdoor pools to a sauna, gym, snow cave, massages and beauty treatments. Under 16s may use the pool from noon to 4pm when accompanied by an adult.

Beach

The beach is right in front of the hotel. No need to bring much more than a bucket and shovel for a fun day at play.

Fehmarn island is about 40 minutes drive from Heiligenhafen. The Fehmarn Sound Bridge connects this popular vacation island with the mainland. The most popular family plan is to visit Sea World in Burg, one of Europe’s largest aquariums and “Galileo’s World of Knowledge”, a great interactive museum for kids.

The Area

The district of Ostholstein is a popular holiday destination thanks to its miles of fine sandy beaches, seaside promenades, plentiful sunshine and dozens of spas situated along the Baltic coast. Swimming, sailing, stand up paddle boarding and kite surfing are popular daytime summer activities and a variety of concerts and outdoor events are held in the evenings.

A largely agricultural region, the interior is a patchwork of emerald green meadows peppered with windmills, forests and lakes. There are several amusement parks in the area and farm visits are becoming and increasingly popular activity in the area.
