We recently spent a couple of nights at Falkensteiner Hotel Montafon with our two children, and had a really lovely time. As one of our partner properties, we were particularly excited to experience the hotel as a family and see first-hand what makes it such a great choice for a family holiday. What we particularly liked is how well the hotel manages to bring together everything a family needs for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday for both children and parents.
What makes this property especially appealing to us is that it works so well for families with children at different stages. There is plenty for babies and younger children. At the same time children up to around 12 still have so much to enjoy and explore. As our own children are 9 and 11, we particularly appreciated that there was enough variety. As well as freedom to keep them excited and entertained, while still giving us plenty of opportunities to relax.
A Little Luxury for the Parents, Too
For us as parents, two things stood out in particular: the delicious food and the beautiful adults-only spa area. After an active day in the mountains, it was wonderful to have a space where we could properly relax and unwind. As well as knowing the children were having just as much fun.
And they certainly didn’t get bored! The pool area with its slides was a big hit, as were the many different play options throughout the hotel. The location is another major advantage for families. One a 3 minute walk to the Golm cable car station and you can go up the mountain. Here there are family-friendly hikes and lovely views to enjoy. We came back down in the most fun way possible: gliding down the 7 long slides at the Forest Slide Park, Europe’s largest forest slide park. Back at the Golm cable car station, more adventurous families can try crossing the lake with the Flying Fox across the lake. As well as climbing in the forest right in the immediate surroundings of the hotel. There is plenty to discover and do right by the property, without spending lots of time getting from A to B.
Highlights of the Falkensteiner Hotel Montafon
One of the biggest highlights for us was seeing how quickly our 11-year-old found his independence. By the second day, he had made friends and was happily heading off on his own. From then on, we mainly saw him at breakfast and dinner! For him, this made the holiday even more exciting. For us as parents, it meant we could enjoy some much-needed time together, while still having the reassurance that he was happy and well looked after.
Our 9-year-old also loved the freedom and variety the hotel offered. One of her personal highlights was surely the “slime workshop” offered in the hotel´s own science lab. At the same time, she really enjoyed having more one-on-one time with both parents. This is something we particularly appreciated as a family. The children could have their own adventures and make friends, while we could also enjoy quality time together.
The whole team at the hotel was extremely friendly and attentive. We felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. The combination of a great family offering, delicious and varied food. The beautiful spa facilities and an activity-filled mountain setting makes Falkensteiner Hotel Montafon a place. One where everyone in the family can genuinely enjoy their holiday in their own way.
