Earlier this June, we spent a few relaxing days at the Costa Blanca Family Retreat, a family-focused retreat tucked into the peaceful hills of the Marina Alta region, between Valencia and Alicante. Travelling with our 8- and 10-year-old children, we were looking for a place where all of us could truly unwind—and we found exactly that.
From the moment we arrived, the property felt like a hidden gem: surrounded by nature, beautifully landscaped gardens, and panoramic mountain views in every direction. Our children immediately made themselves at home—running freely across the grounds, spending hours in the heated saltwater pool, and making regular rounds to visit the friendly farm animals.
Highlights of The Costa Blanca Family Retreat
As parents, we especially appreciated the tranquillity of the setting. We stayed at the “Casita”, a standalone house a bit further away from the main house. This was the perfect little spot for us, with lots of space and privacy for our family. The gardens were bursting with colour and full of little corners to relax with a book or a glass of wine while the kids played nearby. One of the highlights of our stay is the breakfast basket delivered to our door each morning. These are packed with fresh fruit, bread and freshly baked croissants — perfect for a leisurely start to the day.
Mealtimes in general were a true delight! We had a lovely Sunday lunch together with all of the other families staying at the property. The 3 course menu (including a paella, made on site by a local chef) was very tasty and we really enjoyed the nice conversations with other guests and Sarah, the wonderful host. Kids were free to stand up and run around once they had finished their meal. Parents enjoyed a moment of tranquility, while finishing up with deserts and coffee. On most days, children’s dinnners are offered around 6pm and once the kids are asleep, parents can enjoy their evening meal on their terrace.

The Costa Blanca Family Retreat is more than just family-friendly. It is thoughtfully designed with children (especially babies and toddlers) in mind, and doesn’t compromise on style or comfort. It’s the kind of place where everyone in the family can find their rhythm, whether that means chasing chickens, lounging by the pool, or soaking in the spectacular views in peace.

From the honesty bar, you can enjoy a glass of wine or an ice cream at the end of the day. Everything is set up to make mealtimes simple and enjoyable — just like home, if not better.

The outdoor facilities include playgrounds with plenty of indoor and outdoor toys. There’s a saltwater pool with pool toys, shaded seating, soft lawns and shady spots for peaceful naps or picnics
Meet the Animals – A Farm Stay Experience
The daily encounters with the animals are highlight for every child. Young guests can collect eggs, feed the pigs, and pet the friendly goats, donkeys, ponies, and even rabbits. These gentle, interactive experiences are a unique bonus of this family farm-style accommodation.

While the children play safely, parents can truly relax. Each suite or apartment offers a thoughtfully arranged space that supports peaceful family routines.
