During the February half-term, we had the pleasure of returning to the breathtaking region of South Tyrol. This time, we stayed at the newly opened AKI Family Resort PLOSE, a five-star family-friendly retreat nestled near Bressanone (Brixen) setting a new standard for sustainable family holidays in the Dolomites.
Part of the renowned ADLER Group, this brand-new resort opened its doors in November. It is tailor-made for families with young children who seek both outdoor adventures and relaxation in nature.
Facilities at the hotel
The AKI Family Resort PLOSE blends comfort with sustainability and offers exceptional facilities for both kids and adults. Highlights include an indoor & outdoor pool with fun water slides, and a family spa. As well as a stunning only-adult forest spa and sustainable & regional cuisine.
What I love most is its complimentary professional child care. Childcare is closely connected to nature, aiming to reintroduce kids to the “real world” and away from the digital realm.
Childcare and Kids Club
The resort’s childcare services are tailored to specific age groups. This ensures every child has a memorable experience. The Baby Club caters to infants from 1 month to 3½ years, offering a safe and cozy space with activities designed to stimulate young minds. For older children, the Kids Club welcomes kids from 3½ to 8 years old. They provide a variety of fun and creative indoor and outdoor activities. The clubs operate daily from 9:00 to 21:00, allowing parents to relax while their children enjoy supervised fun.
Hassle-Free Ski Courses for Children
The ski courses for children are extremely well organised. You can rent and store all of our ski equipment directly at the hotel. In the mornings, the kids are picked up by a shuttle, and a staff member from the kids’ club, along with the ski instructors, accompanies them to the cable car that takes them up the mountain, which is only a 5-10 minute bus ride from the hotel.
Two course options are available:
- Morning Course: Ends before lunch
- Full-Day Course: Includes lunch and runs until 3 PM
After their lesson, children are returned to the hotel. They can either rejoin their parents or continue playing at the Kids Club.

The family suites are beautifully crafted, combining natural fabrics, high-quality oak flooring, and scenic views of the mountains and forest. Each suite includes:
- A separate children’s room with a bunk bed and single floor bed
- Ample space for families to relax in comfort

The culinary experience at the AKI Family Resort Plose is a real delight for the entire family. The AKI gourmet board includes all meals and non-alcoholic drinks and offers anything from healthy baby food to children’s and gourmet menus. The hotel also features 24/7 baby corners stocked with organic purées, formula, and other essentials. The resort ensures young parents have everything they need at any time.
