Most of you will have already booked your summer holidays but for those of you that are undecided and still need to book your holidays with the little ones, here are few of my last minute suggestions:

1.) THE FRENCH COUNTRY CHIC

This place is a really beautiful Boutique Family Retreat close to Villefranche-de-Rouergue, the owners are from the UK and are wonderful hosts and also great cooks.

Before having kids I used to travel quite frequently to Greece and I always loved the country, its warm hearted people, the great food and the turquoise waters.

This month I finally travelled back, this time with my children, and I can only say all my expectations were exceeded.

After a short flight from Girona, and only 40 minutes drive from Thessaloniki airport we arrived at Sani Resort, a beautiful resort comprised of five family-friendly hotels with stunning views over the Aegean Sea.

Last month after my son attended a birthday party in Sitges we decided to go for lunch with a group of parents from school right after the celebration.

La Sinia restaurant had been recommended by a good friend of mine and I must say we were all pleasantly surprised!

The restaurant is located in the heart of the Natural Park of Garraf next to the Camping facilities of El Garrofer.

I am German and a Capricorn so planning somehow runs in my blood…But ever since I had children and experienced sleep deprivation planning things somehow does not work out the way it did before…

Last year we had planned to travel to Florence at Easter and our trip was supposed to leave around noon from the new terminal in Barcelona.

Catching up with friends isn’t always easy when you have small children, so I was very pleased when I discovered this wonderful Catalan Farmhouse in the Alt Empordà region. It’s not too far from Barcelona, can sleep up to 16 people and is ideal for a short or long stay with family or friends.

At the beginning of this month we asked some of our closest friends to join us on a week-end trip with their kids and stay with us at this centuries-old farmhouse so we could all enjoy some quality time together.

It is that time of year again when soon kids will be going on their  long summer breaks in Spain and many of us are looking for the right place to keep our children entertained and happy at summer camp while we have to work.

One of our favourite indoor play centres in Barcelona is opening its doors for a fun summer camp and this year they will invite kids to “Come to the Movies!” with them and experience some of their favourite characters from the big screen.

At the beginning of this month we went on a road trip with our kids to France. I had discovered this wonderful accommodation not too far from Barcelona, near Carcassonne, which I really wanted to see as it looked like the perfect place for The Little Voyager. And I must say, it was even nicer than I had expected it to be!

When you were pregnant for the first time who did you go to for advice? When you needed a recommendation for a nursery or a school who did you ask? When you needed advice on raising your children bilingually who did you turn to? Nine, if not 10 times out of 10 I expect you asked another mum who was in the same position as you.

Next Saturday on May 12, there will be another edition of the great family event #1000raons taking place in Barcelona, organised by the Front Marítim Barceloneta association and the Hospital Del Mar with the purpose to raise funds for Breast Cancer Research.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide that’s why there are 1000 reasons (“1000raons”) why we all should contribute to breast cancer research and create awareness.

Over 4 years ago when my son was a baby, we booked a self-catering house in East Sussex where we spent two weeks of our summer holidays with good friends joining in from London with their babies.

The house exceeded our expectations and we truly had a wonderful time in a place where everything was provided for, from a fully equipped kitchen to a room full of toys and stair gates that would keep our little ones from crawling upstairs constantly.

In Spain we have 9 long weeks of summer holidays that need to be well planned for the entire family. Last year we were lucky to be able to travel with my dad for few weeks and discovered many beautiful places in Northern Germany.

One highlight surely was the incredibly beautiful and child-friendly Weissenhaus Grand Village Resort & Spa next to the Baltic Sea.

All Those Food Market’s spring edition will be held again at the iconic National Theatre of Catalonia next week-end on April 21-22. This will be the second time this event will take place at this unique venue, which does not need much of an introduction. This popular Food Market festival has been created for all people passionate about food.
