Activities for kids

Day trip to Lisbon

Martinhal Cascais is located in the greater Lisbon area. Day trips into this vibrant and beautiful city are fun for the whole family. Some kid-friendly attractions include making joining a Hippo Tour on an amphibious vehicle, and seeing the surprise on your kids’ faces when you splash into the Tagus; crossing the bridge to the Torre de Belém; and visiting Lisbon’s Oceanarium to see penguins, otters, and of course, plenty of fish.

Day trip to Cascais

Portugese nobility summered here in the 19th century, and their ornate mansions still dot the coastline. Families can visit Cascais’ beautiful beaches and stunning cliffs and visit the fort, which now houses an artisan market.

Day trip to Sintra

Sintra is a small resort town in the foothills of Portugal’s Sintra Mountains. One of the town’s main attractions for families is the Quinta da Regaleira, a former country estate located on the outskirts of town. Another mansion worth visiting is the Palacio Montserrate, where architecture styles from all over the world blend together in a fairy-tale atmosphere.
