Salzburger Land, Austria
The stunning Salzburg region of Austria is most famously known for being the filming location for the 1965 Disney classic “The Sound of Music”. Located just on the edge of the German border, the variety of cultural city events it hosts, and at the same time the amazing opportunities that tourists have to be in nature, make this place a very popular holiday location.
Salzburg city itself is known for its cultural flair and its Baroque style, well worth a visit if you have the time. In the summer months the Salzburger region is a place to hike in lush green mountainous areas and to enjoy the stunning crystal-clear lakes, and maybe even go for a dip.
In winter Salzburger Land is all about the snow season and the mountainous terrain means that skiing is the sport of choice. Snow activities range from snowboarding to winter paragliding. All year round Salzburger Land really is the place for disconnecting and getting back to nature.
