A French Fairy Tale Castle

When I told my kids last year we would stay in a real French castle, they were so excited they immediately packed their suitcases with little princess crowns and swords to fight off the imaginary dragons that might attack us on our journey.

We didn’t get to meet a real prince and the dragon decided not to make an appearance either, but we had a wonderful stay in a truly unique property: a chateau on a wine growing estate with hotel rooms in the castle and family-friendly self-catering properties dotted around the estate.

It is located in the Languedoc region, just half an hour from the Mediterranean coast, 20 minutes from Pezenas and Beziers, and about one hour from Montpellier. It is easily accessible from several airports, by TGV, or by car.

In addition to 8 hotel rooms, there are 36 self-catering properties with private gardens and barbecues, some of which have private pools that are fenced or fitted with alarms for children’s safety. The surroundings offer plenty of entertainment, from exploring authentic villages and boating on the Canal du Midi to theme parks and trips to the beach.

In July and August and during other peak times there is an excellent outdoor Kids Club for 4 to 12 year olds offering hours of fun in nature – all free from digital devices! It was surely one of the best Kids Clubs I have taken my kids to.

The chateau still has some availability for Easter and they are running the Kids Club for the week Monday 22nd to Friday 26th April. An Easter egg hunt will be organised on Sunday 21st for the children and a wine tasting for adults with a special Easter lunch on the restaurant terrace. So if you are looking for a unique place in the countryside to take your kids, this is a great option. Just contact me and I will be happy to send you more details about The French Château, which is now online.

Last but not least, I am very happy to announce that the German version of the website has finally been launched for all the German-speakers who prefer to browse properties in this language. I hope you like it!

Wishing you all a wonderful week,

The Little Voyager
