Great family concert at L’Auditori: PICA-SO!

Picasso and The Little Voyager

For those who stay in Barcelona and have no plans with their kids right after Christmas, there is a beautiful musical event taking place at L’Auditori on Thursday 28th and Friday 29th of December at 12pm.

This great venue offers a yearly programme of up to 20 different productions for families with children of all ages with around 150 concerts throughout the year, hoping to stimulate the interest in the magic of music through creating special musical events that are carefully prepared by a group of educators, composers, musicians, choreographers and stage directors.

If you have not been to L’Auditori, it is a modern building designed by architect Rafael Moneo, which opened its doors in 1999 close to Plaça de les Glòries in Barcelona. There are four main halls in the building: Pau Casals with 2,200 seats, Oriol Martorell with 600 seats, Tete Montoliu with 400 seats and Alicia de Larrocha with 152 seats. The venue is home to the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, the Barcelona Symphony Band and the Music Museum.

The concert offered next week is called PICA-SO and is suitable for children age 2 and above. The entrance fee is 10 Euros and the approximate running time is 50 minutes.

PICA-SO, produced in collaboration with the Picasso Museum in Barcelona, invites families to discover the musical universe of Pablo Picasso which will bring the audience closer to the world of Flamenco, the music of modernist Barcelona, the Russian Ballet, the French Chansons and much more.
