“The Little Magic Flute” for kids at Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona

The Magi Flute with The Little Voyager

Last year, right after Christmas, we went to see Mozart’s famous opera ‘The Little Magic Flute’ adapted for kids at the Liceu in Barcelona with our 4-year-old son. We all enjoyed it very much and had explained the story to him beforehand so he was very excited to go.

If you have not been to the famous Liceu opera house it is a classic and beautiful venue and very impressive for little people (and adults) so just going there is already an event.

This opera for kids is a regular feature of the yearly Petit Liceu programme and this year it will be shown on three different dates:
– Saturday, 2nd of December at 11 am

– Sunday, 3rd of December at 12 pm

– Sunday, December 10th at 11 am

The Magi Flute with The Little Voyager

The approximate running time is 75 minutes with a short break in between and this opera is recommended for children age 6 and above.

I found this to be a great way to introduce kids to the magic of opera, even if they are still a bit younger than the recommended age.

Tickets should be bought in advance, they cost around 10-16 Euros and can be found here:
